Recently, around a hundred guests made their way to Laurel for an event hosted by Chef Mario Pagan and Don Q. The intent was to recreate the dinner held at the prestigious James Beard House in New York. The guests of honor were the Bon Vivants, a nationally recognized cocktail, design and creative group who came all the way from San Francisco. There, they manage and bartend the famous cocktail bar Trick Dog. During the cocktail, they prepared various drinks with Don Q Oro, Don Q Cristal, Don Q Añejo and Don Q Gran Añejo.
In turn, Chef Mario Pagan prepared decadent dishes to be paired with the exquisite wines from the Serralles Distillery. Among them were: Smoked Chayote Soup, Parmesan Foam and Coriander; Arugula Salada, Avocado, Pork Cracklings, White Cheese and Vinaigrette; Rabbit Terrine sprinkled with powdered plantain; Lamb Confit; and Celery “Grit Gâteau” with a Rioja reduction.
