For the fourth consecutive year, Diageo’s scholarship program LEARNING SKILLS FOR LIFE, is looking for young people over the age of 18 who have financial need and want to develop in the field of food and beverage services. The eight week bartender certification course is free for eligible people who apply before February 2015 and will be offered at the Universidad del Este (UNE), Carolina Campus.
Diageo, the leading premium beverages company in the world, has designed this program with the local support of Mendez & Co. and V. Suarez & Co. to transform the lives of people who need support in expanding their talent. In Puerto Rico, the bartender course gives participants the tools for both professional and personal development. The program is designed in a way so that the participant can excel in the service and tourism industry and successfully join the current workforce. In addition to the basic theory, the bartender course includes conversational English classes to develop skills such as leadership, discipline, and confidence.
