The world’s spotlight is once again on the island of Puerto Rico. Saborea Puerto Rico is back for its 8th edition and once again, the event will be taking place at the gorgeous grounds of El Escambrón Beach where distinguished chefs and the best restaurants on the island will delight all those in attendance with their scrumptious eats.
The Saborea festivities are kicking off today with their “Bubbles and Bites” opening event at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino located at the Convention Center District. The guests will have the opportunity to taste various Puerto Rican tapas prepared by recognized local chefs paired with various bubbly drinks. Tickets for the event cost $75.00, but Mastercard cardholders can get them at the discounted price of $65.00. On Friday, April 10, the intimate dinner “Privileged Taste of Saborea” will be held at the Condado Plaza Hilton where twenty of Puerto Rico’s distinguished chefs will each host a table of ten (10) people and prepare a four course meal right before their eyes. Then, on Saturday April 11 and Sunday April 12, El Escambrón will open to host the main event: the Saborea Puerto Rico food festival. During the same, those in attendance will have the opportunity to taste over seventy (70) local restaurants, wines, beers, and spirits in the Tasting Pavillion at the Saborea Village. There will also be a section featuring various desserts, coffee, as well as, California wineries eager to delight all with their product. As if that were not enough, at the GE Monogram Demonstration Theatre, a myriad of demo kitchens will be conducted featuring local chefs and guests who will show the public the culinary skills that distinguish them.
In addition to the celebration, on Saturday, the event will conclude at 7:30 p.m. with an intimate concert at El Escambrón where musician Ale Croatto will be delighting the crowd with his tunes while they take in the beautiful sunset. Also, that same night, everybody is invited to the Saborea after party to be held from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at La Placita de Santurce and will feature music from Andisito Montanez and DJ Gulembo.
