Il Nuovo Mercato is the name of a new concept where gastronomy lovers can discover, explore, and experiment new flavors in a unique ambiance. This new social-gastronomic space is located at the recently inaugurated Mall of San Juan. The goal of this “market” is to present the best of Italian flavor in unique recipes that will be served in the ample food space, respecting Italian tradition, but integrating fresh and original ingredients from our local food. At Il Nuovo Mercato you can sit down to enjoy a delicious gourmet meal, or simply buy the fresh ingredients and take them home.
With a panoramic view of the San José Lagoon, the 14,000 feet terrace that houses the market is divided into various stations: meats and cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pastas, pizzas, artisanal breads, coffee (Kimbo and Gustos Café), and gelato (18 flavors to chose from). Although the idea is that each person visit the different stations to get the complete experience, there will also be servers available to take orders. At each station, you will find a chef preparing classic Italian dishes so you can appreciate and learn the correct way to prepare each dish. Don’t leave without having a drink at the Prosseco Bar where you can enjoy a wide variety of bubbly, craft beers, wines, and cocktails.
