Today, marks the fourth anniversary of my baby Puerto Rico Eats or as my team likes to call it… the little blog that could. When I started this project in 2013, I had one clear goal, to highlight the best places to eat in Puerto Rico, from food trucks to fine dining. As you know, Puerto Rico Eats visits establishments anonymously and paid for by our own dime to ensure that we can give our readers an accurate depiction of what they can expect when they visit the locale. All restaurant reviews are made in English so that tourists and locals alike can learn more about our culinary scene. Although, you can also find Spanish posts on our page as well.
I had one thing clear from the beginning, Puerto Rico Eats would only highlight the positive and never the negative. Therefore, you will only find places I like on the blog. Never could I have imagined where this journey would take me which eventually made this project into a business. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with various brands, as well as, provide services for the cast and crew of the Emmy award winning PBS show Family Ingredients in their Puerto Rico episode. Watch closely and you will see my cameo in the episode. I landed my dream writing gig by preparing a write-up featured on Eater titled Inside Puerto Rico’s Food Truck Boom. Also, my articles have been featured on local publications like Buena Mesa magazine. Puerto Rico Eats is also a regular guest on the popular Puerto Rican podcast En Serio, where monthly, we are invited to talk about different topics related to Puerto Rico’s up-and-coming culinary scene. Most recently, we were invited to speak about the local culinary scene at El Azote con Dávila Colón at WKAQ 580.
But all of this would not have been possible without my incredible Puerto Rico Eats team, Fernando, Natalia, Michael and Mariela, I could not do this without you. Also, a HUGE thank you to those who have followed the blog since its humble beginnings and who have stayed with me through the years. Thank you for joining me while I eat and drink my way through Puerto Rico. I hope you continue to support our page and help us continue spread the word. Expect great things this year. This is only the beginning.
