Beginning Thursday February 2, the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa will launch a series of pop-ups at its restaurant Marbella. Kicking off the series will be Root & Bone, the famous Southern restaurant based in New York City and the brainchild of top chef alumni and James Beard finalists Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth. The restaurant serves classic southern fare and its menu consists of farm-fresh ingredients that are seasonal and locally sourced.
“We have been impressed with the quality products that the Island has to offer. Root & Bone Puerto Rico is an opportunity that challenges us to innovate while maintaining our essence of providing delicious and unpretentious food. I would like to thank Chef Ramón Carrillo for showing me high quality local products and inviting me to his kitchen” stated McInnis whose food showcases his Southern roots, including recipes from his grandmother, with Puerto Rican flavors and products.
“At the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa we are proud to support local producers. We work with local fishermen and farmers to always have the freshest products and the development of the Root & Bone Puerto Rico menu was no exception,” added Chef Ramon Carrillo, executive chef.
Root & Bone Puerto Rico will be at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort from February 2, 2017 to April 29, 2017. Its operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. For reservations call (787) 657-1526. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the mouthwatering menu and we are sure that it will be a crowd pleaser. Our can’t miss items include: the Wedge Salad, Grandma Daisy’s Angel Biscuits, the Braised Short Rib Meatloaf, and the highly addictive Crispy Fried Bucket of Bird (best enjoyed with a side of Mac and Cheese and Stone Ground Grits). You can thank me later!
